With a college background in psychology and music at the University of Tennessee and Rollins College School of Music, Dot Reed's professional career has been in human resource, industrial editing and marketing.

Dot was the assistant personnel manager and industrial editor for a large manufacturing plant for ten years. Her duties included interviewing and testing all applicants for employment, aiding management in labor relations and labor contract negotiations, and editing company employee publications. During this time, Dot was elected Vice-President of the Appalachian Industrial Editor's Association.

After operating her own successful retail business for several years, Dot became the regional marketing director for a national direct sales company. She received numerous national awards for her marketing efforts which resulted in increased sales volume in her region.

Dot joined her husband, Jim, at Reed Advertising in 1985 as Controller. She also acts as liaison between the agency and 600 affiliate agencies, and is responsible for marketing FaxRequest.
